HISTORY
The Planning & Design Centre began in 2003 as a special project of Cities & Environment Unit, a planning action and applied research group in the Faculty of Architecture and Planning at Dalhousie University. Over the years, the Centre has gained momentum and support through public forums and educational programmes, newsletters, and presentations to audiences across Canada. The Centre is currently working on securing a permanent physical space and sustained funding in order to become a fully-operating creative institution.

MANDATE
The Planning & Design Centre is a collaborative, non-profit organisation dedicated to making planning and design more accessible, inclusive, and ongoing. The Centre increases awareness about current projects and studies, provides forums for the exchange of ideas, both locally and globally, and advances propositions which celebrate who we are and define our collective aspirations.
